Camping Europa at Lake Annecy: 2026 dates, prices found, capacity and the real distance to the lake

Camping Europa is a four-star campsite in Saint-Jorioz, on the west shore of Lake Annecy, 400 m from the water and right on the cycle path. People search for it by name, which suggests they have already spotted it and want to check before booking.

That is exactly what this page does: dates, prices, capacity and opening hours as published by the campsite and the directories, with the points where they disagree.

When is Camping Europa open?

The official website announces a 2026 season from 12 May to 18 September 2026, repeated word for word by a national directory. The ACSI listings, in French and German, say from 13 May to 18 September 2026. A one-day gap, unexplained, and no visible correction.

For previous seasons, no year-by-year table is published. The directories give generic ranges with no year attached: from 25 April to 19 September for one, from 1 May to 20 September for another. So the campsite has opened earlier in some years, but there is no way of saying which.

In practice: do not count on it opening before mid-May, and check the date on the campsite's own website, not in a directory. The dates of the other campsites around the lake are in camping at Lake Annecy.

Where exactly is it, and how far is it from the lake?

At 1444 route d'Albertville, 74410 Saint-Jorioz, on the main road along the west shore, 9 to 10 km from the centre of Annecy. The 400 m to the lake are confirmed by several listings, and it is a distance you have to cross, not a beach at the end of the lane.

The most tangible asset is direct access to the lakeside cycle path, which runs past the campsite: Annecy is half an hour away by bike on a separate path. The route, the distances and the east shore closure until December 2026 are in cycling around the lake.

What the listings do not go into: the quality and size of the nearest beach. Several reviews find it below expectations, or further away than they imagined. The campsite sells "400 m from the lake", not "private beach", and the difference matters with children.

How much does a stay cost?

Only ranges are published, by a tourism directory in October 2025: a pitch at €34 to €55, a mobile home at €500 to €1,500 a week. The campsite's website does not show a price grid by period on the pages consulted.

Tourist tax comes on top, €0.60 per adult per night for a classified campsite, on the Grand Annecy 2026 scale. Booking fees, the deposit, electricity and pets are documented nowhere in the sources.

Paid services are listed without prices: bar and restaurant, takeaway pizzas, bike hire, fridge hire, a shared kitchen. Ask for the list of extras before paying the deposit: that is where reviews say the bill ends up higher than planned.

How many pitches: 104 or 210?

The official website, in its introduction updated in March 2026, highlights 104 pitches for standard camping of about 90 m² each. Directories give 186 to 210 pitches on 3 to 3.2 ha.

The difference is probably one of scope: 104 bare pitches on one side, all rental units and bare pitches on the other. But no source confirms it, and no organisation harmonises these figures. We leave them as they are.

Accommodation ranges from a bare pitch for a tent, caravan or motorhome to mobile homes, cottages and chalets. There is a traditional pool and a water park with slides, massage benches and water games, for guests only, with no separate price published.

What do reviews hold against a four-star site?

The Tripadvisor page gathers 245 reviews. The recurring criticism fits into one sentence found in the excerpts: "a very nice campsite but lacking the services of a 4-star". The setting is praised, and so is the cycle path; the level of service is judged below the rating.

Two other points come up: the nearest beach, seen as average or far away, and crowds around the water park in the high season, with the campsite publishing no capacity limit or waiting time.

No data on visitor numbers, occupancy rates or economic impact is published, either by the campsite or by the tourist office. The year it opened and the story of how it gained four stars are told nowhere.

Reception hours that catch people out

The website publishes a phone line staffed Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 12pm. A partner listing adds a restriction the campsite's own communication does not highlight: in the low season, reception is closed from 12pm to 2pm, with no cars allowed in during that time.

Arrive at 12.30pm on a day in May and you will wait at the barrier. The full reception hours, afternoons, weekends and high season, do not appear in the excerpts consulted. Once again, phone before you set off.
