Luggage storage, toilets and drinking water in Annecy: only one service in seven is documented

This page was meant to cover seven services: luggage storage, public toilets, drinking water, wifi, charging points, duty pharmacies and lost property. Only one of them is actually documented.

Our check of 13 September 2026 turned up four complete price lists for luggage, and nothing usable on the other six subjects. Here are both halves, without filling in the second. The luggage half matters most on a last day, when you check out in the morning and your flight from Geneva leaves in the evening.

How much does luggage storage cost in Annecy?

There is no automatic SNCF left-luggage office at Annecy station. It is replaced by private locker businesses and by platforms that leave your suitcase with a partner shop.

Lockers first, with their price lists as recorded.

• LOCKIN (1 passage Nemours in the old town, 2 rue Jean Jaurès on the lake side): €1.50 to €3.50 an hour and €9 to €21 for 24 hours, from the small locker to two large suitcases.
• The Lake Lockers (two minutes from the station): €6 to €8 for two hours, €15 to €20 for 24 hours, €84 to €110 for a week, depending on size.
• AnnecyBag (station area): €1.90 for the first hour and €11.40 for six hours, for a locker the size of a cabin bag.
• Locker for keys or papers at The Lake Lockers: €5 for up to 24 hours, the option to choose when you have nothing bulky to leave.

One detail that matters: AnnecyBag's price list stops at six hours. The day rate is not published anywhere, so nobody can say in advance what a suitcase left there from 9am to 7pm will cost.

Locker or shop bag drop: which is cheaper?

The platforms do not rent lockers: they book a space with a partner, a hotel or a shop, around the station and the centre. The price is per bag and per day, not per hour.

• Radical Storage: €3.90 per bag per day on its Annecy page, €5 on its station page. Both pages date from the same year.
• Nannybag: from €4.40 per bag per day.
• Eelway: €10 per bag per day, with discounts for several bags but no published scale.

The rule of thumb fits in two lines. Under three hours, the locker wins, because LOCKIN charges by the hour, at €1.50 to €3.50 depending on locker size. Beyond half a day, the shop bag drop comes out ahead.

The second criterion is size. The platforms charge a single price whatever the volume, whereas lockers charge by format: two large suitcases at LOCKIN cost the top of its €9 to €21 daily range, against twice €3.90 at Radical Storage.

How late can you collect your luggage?

It is the question that decides the end of a day, and the announced hours are wide. The Lake Lockers presents itself as open 24 hours a day, every day, AnnecyBag 7am to midnight, every day.

LOCKIN states 7am to midnight, every day on its own pages. Another website gives 7am to 11pm for the same business, and there is nothing to decide between the two.

The platforms depend on the shop that takes you in: allow 6.30am to 11pm depending on the shop, with a few points advertised as open round the clock. Your suitcase is therefore available until the shop's shutters come down, not the platform's.

None of these businesses publishes its public holiday closures, or what happens on the night of the Fête du Lac. In a town whose peaks fall on a handful of weekends, that is the most missing piece of data.

Where are the public toilets in Annecy?

We cannot answer, and that is the honest answer. None of the sources consulted publishes a list of addresses, a price, opening hours or accessibility level for the town's public toilets.

There are toilets on the Pâquier esplanade, as locals know. But between "there are some" and "here is the address, the opening hours and the price" lies exactly the gap a guide is supposed to fill, and no available document lets us fill it here.

So we will not repeat the €0.30 to €0.80 range that some guides apply to French urban toilets: it has not been verified for any facility in Annecy. Printing an unverifiable price would be worse than saying nothing.

The same blank on accessibility: not a pictogram, not a dimension, not a mention of grab rails. A wheelchair user cannot prepare anything in advance from what is published.

Can you refill a water bottle anywhere in Annecy?

Again, nothing usable. No map of drinking water fountains, no number, no address, no seasonal opening calendar in the sources consulted, even though the town is explored on foot and by the water all day long.

On water quality, the same silence: no nitrate, hardness or residue values, no year of testing. These readings must exist, since regulations require them, but they are not passed on in the practical pages available.

The practical consequence for a visitor cycling round the lake or spending a day at the beach: set off with your own water. Counting on finding a fountain along the way means betting on information nobody publishes.

What does the town publish on public wifi and charging points?

No map of public hotspots, no access conditions, no opening hours appear in the sources consulted. The wifi actually available is that of hotels and cafés, which is a commercial matter, not a public service.

On phone charging points, the same total absence. Charging points for electric vehicles appear on national maps, but nothing is published at Annecy level in the practical pages we were able to consult.

For a foreign visitor without a data plan, this means one thing: connectivity is sorted out before arriving, not on the spot. An offline map is worth more than a hoped-for hotspot.

Why is there nothing on duty pharmacies and lost property?

These are the two subjects where the gap hurts most, because they come up in an emergency. No list of duty pharmacies, no rota hours, no call procedure is published in the sources consulted.

On lost property, the same finding. A municipal service very probably exists, but neither its address, nor its opening hours, nor how long a handed-in item is kept are available. The station refers to the rail operator's national system without detailing it.

We would rather say so than copy an unverified phone number. A wrong number in the middle of the night costs more than a page that admits its limits and sends you to the source.

What are the three contradictions between sources?

The first concerns Radical Storage: €3.90 on the Annecy page, €5 on the station page of the same site, from the same year. The real price depends on the partner, not the platform.

The second concerns LOCKIN: 7am to midnight, every day on the business's own site, 7am to 11pm elsewhere. An hour's difference is enough to miss an evening train, and nobody settles it.

The third is not a figure but a shared omission: no business publishes how full it gets or mentions saturation, even though Annecy's services fill up every summer. Turning up at 11am on a Saturday in August without a booking is a gamble.
